Snowman World opened its doors on December 6th, and Arctic SnowHotel on December 15th. These iconic Lapland experiences invite both travelers and locals alike to embrace the magic of snow this winter. Snowman World brings to life a snowy jungle adventure, while Arctic SnowHotel celebrates Finland’s status as the happiest country in the world with masterful snow and ice art.
The theme for this season at Snowman World, located in Santa Claus Village, is Snowmen in the Jungle. It offers unforgettable moments as tropical animals and vegetation come alive, sculpted from snow and ice. Visitors can enjoy ice and snow art such as an ice chameleon, a snowy rhinoceros, and the coils of an ice python.
“Our snowmen wanted to visit the jungle, but since they would melt there, we created an arctic version of the jungle for them,” says Snowhotel Family’s owner Heidi Haavikko with a smile.
Meanwhile, Arctic SnowHotel in Lehtojärvi celebrates the key to happiness – a theme inspired by Finland’s recognition as the happiest country in the world. Artists have created stunning sculptures in the corridors and rooms of the snow hotel that reflect various aspects of happiness, such as a sense of freedom, closeness to nature, and small everyday joys.
“Through these themes, we want to share joy and happiness with all our visitors – both globally and here in Lapland.”
Everyone Is Welcome
Snowhotel Family emphasizes that these experiences are not just for tourists but warmly welcome locals as well. A visit to Arctic SnowHotel or Snowman World offers the opportunity to see how much joy and happiness Lapland’s experiences can bring to everyone.
“It’s wonderful to see both domestic and international guests admire our artworks and enjoy the winter atmosphere. At the same time, we want to provide locals with a chance to experience the magic of their own region with fresh eyes”, Haavikko adds.
Arctic SnowHotel is open daily until March 31, 2025, from 10 AM to 8 PM.
Snowman World is open daily, weather permitting, from December 6th to January 6th, from 10 AM to 8 PM, and from January 7th to March 17th, from 11 AM to 7 PM.
